Services,
It is an honor to support people with developmental disabilities and traumatic brain injuries. The unique goodness of each person we serve
spills over into the daily
lives of their
families and our staff.
We understand that to serve the whole person is to also be aware of all those who are touched by the person that lives in one of our residential settings.
We strive to create an atmosphere that is supportive, challenging and safe. We seek to help people participate in a variety of things that allow them to experience the community around them. We maintain a home atmosphere that engages the individual and builds a sense of connectedness with those who share space in all of our residential settings.
We are proud of the dedicated individuals that are employed by Bear Creek Services. They bring consistency to the routines of daily life. We are enriched by each person that lives in our houses, and by the staff that serves them.

Program Overview:
Bear Creek Services provides residential and other support services to individuals with DD, TBI, autism, Down’s Syndrome, and cerebral palsy.
Our clients are referred to us usually by Olmsted County Social Services (and other counties within SE Minnesota). The referred individual is evaluated to determine what their needs are, and then Bear Creek Services will suggest a program (one of our group homes) that is a “match” to that individual’s personality, needs and desires. Tours of the proposed group home are often conducted so the individual and their family can assess the home and interact with potential housemates. If the individual feels the home is “right” for them, a move-in date is set.
Based on information provided by the county, individualized programs are put in place to encourage each individual to achieve basic personal goals that will result in a more independent lifestyle. Our residential staff monitors their progress, gives encouragement, and celebrates with each individual when the goal is reached. All our clients are given the opportunity to participate in activities of interest to them, including employment, workshops, community education classes, and other recreational activities.

Our staff also assists each client with general every-day routines—bathing, cooking, laundry, cleaning, etc, offering the client choices in making their lives more rewarding and meaningful. We also have a very dedicated nursing staff who accompany the clients to medical appointments and ensure the clients are in the best of health.
Our entire staff, from direct-care staff to administrative personnel, is dedicated to providing each individual with the care and attention they deserve in order to lead independent and productive lives.
